I just finished reading the second book in my good friend, Rori Shay's, trilogy Elected series.  Like many trilogies, it's the second book where the foundation has been set and the story starts to get exciting, building to a climax with the main characters taking risks that make you cringe.  We were left with a cliffhanger in the first book, Elected, where East Country was under attack and the Elected had to make a very dangerous decision that could not only jeopardize her position as leader of the country but also her life, while also dealing with some surprising personal twists.  In this second book, Aloy (the Elected) is making a sacrifice that she hopes will pay off and save her country and save the world in general.  Though I'm tempted, I don't want to give too much away!  I can promise you several escapes from death, deceptions, traitorous actions, redemptions, and tragedies occurring throughout that propel you to read more.
